Demetra activity takes place in 2 modern production complexes located in the “Morbegno-Talamona” industrial park (Sondrio province). One, consisting of 5’500 sq.m indoor and 4'500 sq.m outdoor, includes the raw material arrival unit and the production plants; the other incorporates labeling, packaging, warehousing and shipment units in a 7’000 sq.m building, with a storing capacity of 7’000 pallets.
Although automated, our production lines include crucial manual checks of the raw materials by expert and adequately trained staff. We combine the tradition and expertise of home cooking with innovative preparation processes and packaging, and this means we can retain all the aroma and flavours of the raw materials we use. The plant has EC registration number IT 1238/L EC, and is authorised to process products of plant and animal origin.
Demetra obtained the ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2003 (certificate no. CERT-12463-2003-AQ-MIL-SINCERT issued by DNV) and adheres scrupulously to the HACCP standard in all production processes.
The company is accredited by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, with FCE NUMBER 12506 and B.T. Act Registration N. 10881329950.
The company system permits complete traceability of all raw materials and finished products (EC Reg. 178/2002), and complies with the allergen regulations (EC Reg. 2003/89).
In terms of environmental sustainability, the Demetra plant is considered a low emitter of pollutants, and applies differentiated waste collection.
